December 5, 2005: Leslie S. Liu passed his
qualifying exam today. Congratulations! His forthcoming dissertation focuses on
"Scalable Peer-to-Peer Streaming Networks for Interactive Applications."
November 28, 2005: Beomjoo Seo passed his
qualifying exam today. Congratulations! His forthcoming dissertation focuses on
"Edge Indexing for Highly Scalable and Dynamically Extensible Virtual
Environments."
November 6-12, 2005: The ACM Multimedia 2005
conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Singapore. The
conference poster (PDF) can be found here. I am one of
the short paper co-chairs.
August 20, 2005: We had an End-of-Summer party for the DMRLab.
August 15, 2005: Kun Fu passed his
Ph.D. defense exam today. Congratulations! His dissertation focuses on
"Resource Management in Large-Scale Data Stream Recording
Architectures."
May 13, 2005: Brent Nash, who has worked on the AudioPeer
project through IMSC's Research Program for Undergraduate Students has
been named USC's
2005 salutatorian.
April 18-20, 2005: Presentation at the
10th International Conference on Database Systems for Advanced Applications
(DASFAA 2005) at the
Friendship Hotel, Beijing, China.
March 8, 2005: Presentation at the
CENIC 2005
conference, in Marina del Rey, California, at the Ritz-Carlton
