About

Algo*Mania, one of the challenges in the National Infocomm Competition 2007, will be held in conjunction with the 32nd Regional Contest in Singapore for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) and National University of Singapore School of Computing Infocomm Fest .

The ACM ICPC is a prestigious competition for university students all over the world. This year, the National University of Singapore (NUS) hosts the ACM ICPC Singapore Regional Contest.

Top university students from the region will converge at NUS for the ACM ICPC Regional Contest in Singapore to contend for a much sought-after place in the ACM ICPC World Finals. As an Algo*Mania contestant, you will get a chance to meet these talented computing geeks!

Algo*Mania follows the rules and procedures of the ACM ICPC, except that it is to be completed in a shorter duration -- three hours -- and with easier tasks (relative to the ICPC tasks, that is, but nonetheless they are still very challenging, with a level of difficulty that is similar to the tasks in the National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI). The main difference between Algo*Mania and NOI is that the former is team-based (just like the National Software Competition) while the latter is individual. Each team in Algo*Mania consists of three members.

So, are you game? Get a team of friends together and register your team for Algo*Mania and display your accomplishment in problem solving, programming and teamwork skills on 14 December 2007!
