Making Sure That Things Always Work Beautifully...

Welcome to the central-facility (CF) homepage of the School of Computing
(SoC). The SoC CF team consists of 3 technical groups:

Technical Services staff;

Workshop/Lab Officers; and

ITU (IT unit; aka COMCITA) staff.

Together, we manage facilities and equipment in SoC and provide the related services.

We aim to provide effective and efficient services and supports for teaching, research and administration in SoC, as part of the efforts to enable SoC to achieve its mission to be an international centre of excellence for multi-disciplinary learning and research in IT.

The School of Computing has a wide range of
computing equipment to support its students
and staff. High performance UNIX servers, networks, personal PCs and Windows servers are just some examples. We also have many labs and services for students to explore and experiment so as to supplement normal classroom learning. We have documented them as much as we could in this CF web pages.

Apart from adding new material here, we are also keeping up our documentation effort in a wiki-based portal(Here).

While we make every effort to keep our documentation up to date, we will not be aware of every creative usages or at times the effect of doing certain things differently. We are also well aware of a host of talents out there who are both technically experienced and willing to document their experiences in technical subjects. Hence we welcome and solicit your contribution to our wiki-based documentation.
