Schools, JCs and Polys

Computing is a fascinating field that combines the excitement in science, the discipline in engineering, and the beauty in arts to create new possibilities and transform our lives. The NUS School of Computing Outreach Programme invites Junior College and High School students to experience the Power and Magic of Computing through various seminars, workshops, camps, and other activities.

Conducted either on the NUS campus or at JCs or high schools, the activities aim to encourage young talents to consider computing as a future field of study and a career choice. Customised programmes for introducing computing concepts and analytical skills to complement and supplement the JC and high school main curricula in mathematics and science are also available.

Some of the talks and workshops that have been well received include:

  • Computational Thinking

  • The Art and Science of Problem Solving

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Computer Vision

  • Introduction to E-Commerce

  • Grid Computing

  • Computing with Alice

  • Game Modeling and Simulation

  • Flash Programming

  • Computational Biology, and many more
