| Dr. Shan Ling PAN
is Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems, School of Computing
at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his MBA
degree from University of Texas (UTSA), MA degree from University of London (SOAS) and Ph.D. degree in Industrial
and Business Studies (Operational Research and Systems) from the
University of Warwick, UK.
He is the coordinator of the Asian IT Case Series (http://aitcs.nus.edu.sg). He has also published two casebooks (Managing Emerging Technologies and Organizational Transformation in Asia: A Casebook and Managing Strategic Enterprise Systems and E-Government Initiatives in Asia: A Casebook).
Dr. Pan's primary research focuses
on the recursive interaction of organizations and information technology
(enterprise systems), with particular emphasis on organizational
issues such as work practices, cultures, structures, decision-making,
change, strategy implementation that often require qualitative research
methods. Specifically, he is interested in understanding the complex
issues related to the adoption, implementation and use of enterprise
systems within organization.
Dr. Pan's research work has been
published/forthcoming in Information Systems Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. IEEE Transactions on IT in Biomedicine; Journal of the American Society for Information Science and
Technology; European Journal of Operational Research; Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, Communications
of ACM; Journal of Operational Research Society,
Information and Organization;
Journal of Strategic Information Systems; European Management Journal, European Journal of Information Systems; Decision Support Systems and among others.
He is also an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information
Systems, Communications of the AIS, and Electronic Commerce Research and Application.
Dr. Pan was a winner of the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (2003 and 2006) and NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (2004). His teaching interests include E-government,
Knowledge Management Systems and Organizations, Enterprise Systems,
and Qualitative Research Methods. |
