TAN Hung Pheng

Dr. Tan Hung Pheng holds the appointment of Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Prior to joining NUS, he accumulated considerable experience in information technology working with both the government sectors and the banking industry. Dr. Tan graduated as a gold medallist in Mathematics from the former Nanyang University in 1968. He received his MA and PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1971 and 1973 respectively under a Fulbright Scholarship. After completing his bond in the government services, he served in two well-established foreign banking groups and a major local banking group for over twenty years in charge of information technology.

Dr. Tan is a senior member of the Singapore Computer Society. He also served in the executive council of the Information Technology Management Association from 1985 to 1989. He has been a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery, USA since 1972.
