Profile
Dr. Teo Hock Hai is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Information Systems in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore. He was a Visiting Scholar in the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999-2000. He received a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree (1990) and a M.Sc. degree (1995) in Computer and Information Sciences, and a Ph.D. degree in Information Systems (1998) from the National University of Singapore. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Teo has been a Systems Analyst at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (1990-92) and a Teaching Assistant at the National University of Singapore from (1992-98). He has also served on the EDIMAN (Electronic Data Interchange for Manufacturing) Standards Working Committee (1995-96), which was responsible for formulating EDI standards in the Electronic and Petrochemical industries in Singapore, and had conducted executive seminars for Haw Par Group and Singapore Pools.
Dr Teo's research interests include electronic commerce, IT innovation adoption, information privacy, and user-database interactions. His work has been published or accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information and Management, International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Journal of American Society for Information Science and Technology (JASIST), Journal of Database Management and Journal of Management Information Systems, MIS Quarterly.
