13 January 2017 Department of Computer Science Student

 

13 January 2017 - A0, a group of three Computer Science students, have placed third out of 60 teams at the 2016 ACM-ICPC Asia Yangon Regional Programming Contest, which was held on 9 December 2016.

Fourth year student Duong Thanh Dat, third year student Vu Dinh Quang Dat and first year student Nguyen Tien Trung Kien were able to solve all ten programming questions assigned at the contest, coming behind two teams who were able to solve the same questions more quickly. Dr. Soo Yuen Jien was on site to coach the group.

Another group Pandamonium, comprising Double Degree Programme in Mathematics and Computer Science first year student Gan Wei Liang and fifth year student Khor Shi-Jie; and Centre for Quantum Technologies PhD student Yang Siyi, were placed sixth out of 40 teams at the 2016 ACM-ICPC Asia Manila Regional Programming Contest, which was held from 14 to 16 December 2016.
