Computing for Voluntary Welfare Organisations (CVWO) celebrate their 10th anniversary on 9th November. CVWO unveiled their new mobile application created for Lions Befrienders Service Association, which allow volunteers to track and analyse seniors' mood and mental states during house visits. Speaker of Parliament Mr Tan Chuan-Jin was invited as guest of honour and held a dialogue session on the topic "serving the community with your diverse talents".

Research by Assistant Professor Divesh Aggarwal and his colleagues have estimated that quantum computers might be able to break bitcoin's security as early as 2027. Bitcoin encrytion today is ensured by the difficulty of cracking its code using existing computers, but quantum computers will be able to work much faster because they are not constrained to working with bits (values that are either 0 or 1).
