Dr Michael Yin Xinyi made
news with his entrepreneurial achievements
whilst he was still a PhD student with NUS
School of Computing. Together with another
student, he set up Mozat Pte Ltd, a start-up
dealing with mobile technology. The company
graduated from SoC Incubation Centre in late
2005, and it was employing some 20 staff in
Singapore and Shanghai by 2006.
Michael’s success in growing
Mozat Pte Ltd did not go unnoticed. On
several occasions, the local media,
including The Business Times, published
reports on how Michael used mobile
technology that he had developed to set up a
thriving business.
Michael came to Singapore
from Shanghai in 2001 to further his studies
with NUS School of Computing. He received
his PhD in 2007.
