SoC Associate Professor Leong Hon
Wai Wins USP Teaching Award
A
ssociate Professor Leong Hon Wai has been named the sole
winner of the University Scholars Programme (USP) Award for
2008.
The announcement
and award presentation were made at the USP Commencement Dinner on
26 July 2008.
In its citation for the
award, the USP Teaching Excellence Committee lauded Prof Leong for
his outstanding teaching contribution to USP.
The Committee said its
members had unanimously decided on Prof Leong as the year’s winner,
noting that he had gone beyond the normal duty of classroom teaching
and made lasting contributions to the students’ intellectual and
personal growth.
Prof Leong has a long history
of involvement in organising competitions and other student
