Mr Lim was named IT Young Professional of the Year 2008. The award is given to an individual 35 years old or below for his significant contributions in the innovation of IT products, services or applications.

Travis was named IT Youth 2008. The award is given to an individual 25 years or below for his ongoing commitment to IT or sustained support of IT activities.

Mr Lim has grown his company, Webvisions, from a startup of three partners to over 100 employees in 2008. With him at its helm, the company has also expanded its customer base from 50 in the first year to over 20,000 by early 2008.

Travis’ early interest in video games has led him to develop a real time strategy game which was awarded a place at the prestigious MILIA Game Developer Village Showcase 2002 in France. His technical and organisational skills have also allowed him and his teams to win in international AI and game competitions.

Travis’ zeal for game development has further won him an internship at the Singapore MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, and the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) student scholarship at the Game Developers Conference 2006 in San Jose, California.

The IT Leader Awards are an annual event, organised by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS). There are four categories of awards: Person of the Year, Hall of Fame, Youth Professional of the Year and IT Youth.

This year’s presentation ceremony was held in conjunction with the SCS 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Dance 2008 at Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
