In a news release dated 26 February 2008, Microsoft Corp. described
the board as part of its continuing work with leading security and
privacy researchers from around the world, predominantly from
academia.The purpose of the effort, it said, is to critically
relate, analyze and critique security and privacy policies and
technologies within Microsoft products and services in a
comprehensive, collaborative fashion.
Listing the 17 members of the board, the software giant describes
them as leading academic and corporate professionals specializing in
the fields of security, privacy policy and technology.
It highlighted that the members are noted for their significant
track records of achievement in their respective fields of
specialisation.
Prof Png’s research focuses on the economics of intellectual
property, information privacy, and pricing.
