s part of SoC 10th Anniversary celebrations, NUS School
of Computing (SoC) is launching the annual Outstanding
Computing Alumni Award. |
The purpose of the Award is to recognise Computing alumni
whose endeavours in their chosen fields or professions are
worthy of recognition and have brought honour to the
University/School.
Any member of the SoC community, comprising faculty, staff,
students and alumni of the School and its predecessor departments,
may nominate candidates for the Award.
All Computing alumnus of NUS (including University of Singapore and
Nanyang University) are eligible for this Award.
Selection of winners will follow these criteria:
• Contribution/leadership in his/her profession, industry or
discipline
• Service to the alma mater, community or the nation
• Entrepreneurship
• Any other area of human endeavour deemed worthy
Nominations for Outstanding Computing Alumni Award 2008 are now
open and will close on 1 August 2008.
Results will be announced at
SoC 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner on 23 August 2008 at Hilton
Singapore, and winner(s) will receive the Award from Guest-of-Honour,
RAdm (NS) Ronnie Tay, CEO of Infocomm Development Authority of
Singapore (IDA).
Nominations must be made on a prescribed form, which may be
downloaded
here.
All nominations will be reviewed and subject to the recommendation
by an Awards Evaluation Committee appointed by the Dean and the
decision of the Awards Committee is final.
The Award will consist of an engraved plaque accompanied by a
citation.
