Meeting of Mind among Students,
Industry and Academia at Inaugural Sun-NUS Open Source Day
|
|
The inaugural Sun-NUS Open Source Day took off on a positive
note on 28 March 2008. Jointly organised by Sun Microsystems and
NUS School of Computing, the half-day event attracted a crowd of
over 100 participants, including students and staff from NUS,
and other Institutes of Higher Learning in Singapore, research
institutes, as well as software developers and other
professionals and managerial level personnel. Seeking to
provide participants with updates on Open technologies and
business models that are driving the Web 2.0 era, the event
comprised talks and demos in the main venue, followed by
break-out sessions in the adjacent rooms. It was held in seminar
rooms at the COM1 cluster of the School.
