Win in NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award
A
ssociate Professor Gary Tan has won the NUS Annual
Teaching Excellence Award for the third time.
The award is given by the University to recognise faculty members
who are highly committed to and achieve good teaching.
Selection is also based on peer and student feedback as well as
information from teaching portfolios.
Prof Tan’s latest award, conferred at a ceremony on 17 April 2008,
is for his outstanding teaching in AY 2006/7.
He won the same award for AY 2003/4 and 2004/5.
As a three-time winner of the award, Prof Tan is slated for the NUS
Annual Teaching Excellence Award Honour Roll, an added recognition
that he will receive at another ceremony in 2009.
Lecturing with NUS School of Computing and its predecessor
department since 1990, he has won a number of faculty-level teaching
awards.
