Faculty Achievements


 

 

Professor Tan Kian Lee has been elected an Editor-in-Chief of the VLDB Journal, beginning Sept 2009 for six years. The VLDB Journal is a premium quarterly journal published on behalf of the VLDB Endowment. The journal is dedicated to the publication of scholarly contributions to the advancement of information system architectures, the impact of technological advancements on information systems, and the development of novel database applications. Very Large Data Base Endowment Inc. (VLDB Endowment) is a non-profit organisation incorporated in the United States for the sole purpose of promoting and exchanging scholarly work in databases and related fields throughout the world.


Professor Tan is a faculty member and deputy head of NUS School of Computing’s Department of Computer Science. His research interests include: query processing and optimisation, data indexing and organisation in advanced database systems, database security, and peer-to-peer computing.
