Even though the first semester begins on 4 August, we have lined up a series of events for you as early as seven weeks before the semester begins.
It is important that you attend these activities to familiarise yourself with the course structure and degree requirements, and at the same time, be oriented on the use of computing facilities in the School. In particular, I urge you to attend all events scheduled for 28 July 2008, including both the Java and Scheme Appreciation lectures. Through these short sessions, you may acquire a better appreciation of the first programming language you can choose to learn.
