Student Internship Programme (SIP)

Introduction

The Student Internship Programme (SIP) is a full time attachment offered for three months between May till July each year.

Students will be given six modular credits (MCs) on completing the three month’s attachment programme. Students who fail to complete the three-month attachment will not be given the six MCs.

Students’ progress on projects will be monitored during attachment, and an assessment of their performance will be made (on Completed Satisfactory/Completed Unsatisfactory (CS/CU) basis) at the end of the attachment, based on final reports.

You are to note the following:

  1. You are allowed to apply for SIP then ATAP or vice versa. Only a maximum of 12 MCs of SoC internships (from ATAP/SIP) are taken into account for graduation requirements.
  2. Students who are already on ATAP are not allowed to reduce its duration to turn it into a SIP attachment.
  3. All internships will be recorded on the transcript except the following circumstance, if students request and register for another round of attachment (second SIP or second ATAP), students will not receive any MCs from their second attachment and these MCs will not be recorded on the transcript.
  4. Students are allowed to self-initiate internship and convert them to SIP. Please contact Ms Nur Arifah at arifah@comp.nus.edu.sg for the procedures. Kindly note there no retrospective approval will be given for self-initiated SIP. All approvals must be sought for prior embarking on any self-initiated SIP if you wish to earn credits.
  5. CEG students should follow the internship guidelines for CEG students. Please refer to http://www.ceg.nus.edu.sg/ia/
