Dr. Sung Wing Kin, Ken

- Dr. Wing-Kin Sung
received both the B.Sc. and the Ph.D. degree in the
Department of Computer Science from the University of Hong Kong
in 1993, 1998, respectively. He is now an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science,
School of Computing,
NUS. His research interest is Computational
Biology. Prior to joining NUS, Dr. Sung worked as a Post-Doctoral
Fellow in Yale University, participating in the development of
algorithms for DNA mapping and for evolutionary tree reconstructing.
In addition, he also worked as a Senior Technology Officer in the
E-Business Technology Institute (ETI).
Chinnasamy
Arunkumar
Chinnasamy Arunkumar is
currently working as a research assistant in the computational biology
lab. He received his Master of Computing degree from
School of Computing,
National University of Singapore.
His research interests include application of machine learning
techniques in bioinformatics.

Chen Qiongyu is a student
of Bachelor of Computing at the School of Computing, National University
of Singapore. Her research is in
experiments
and practical improvements of Compressed Suffix Array.

Sihui is a honors year student in School of Computing,
NUS, majoring Computer
Science. She worked on computing the melting temperature of
nucleic acid duplex in typical PCR solvent condition for
her honors year project under Dr Ken Sung.

for his honors year project under Dr Ken Sung.

Wong Swee Seong received
his M.Sc. in Computer Science by research from the
School of Computing in year
1999 while working as a teaching assistant with the school. He joined
a technology startup company,
ReasonEdge Technologies for more than 2 years before returning to
the school to pursue his Ph.D. while working as a research fellow with
the Medical Computing
Laboratory under
Assoc. Prof. Leong Tze
Yun.
His current research
area is
similarity
search in DNA sequences using spaced seeds.

Liu Tiefei is a PhD
candidate in School of Computing, NUS and is working on learning of
gene network. She obtained her
Bachelor of medicine from the
Third Military Medical University,
ChongQing,
China
in 1996.
Chen Wei

Chen
Wei graduated from the
Shanghai JiaoTong
University, P. R. China with a Bachelor of Science from the
Computer Science and Technology Department. She is currently a student
of M.Sc. at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore.
Her current research interests include searching
pattern in Blast family tools and motif finding.
