Student Projects

Recently, Mr Foo Mao Ching completed his master thesis on Dixon Quotient Formulas . One application of his results is the exact implicitization of bi-cubic toric patches without base points. The results (pdf) was presented at PG2003. Ms Xiao Wei discovers four loose entry formulas, introduces the concept of exposed points, and shows their relevance in determining maximal minors and extraneous factors for constructing quotient form sparse resultants using the Dixon method. All this is in her thesis.
