I had the fortune to take up mountaineering as part of a wonderful mountaineering club. With members of the Explorer club I've made a lot of wonderful trips, both in Romania and abroad, even back then when we hadn't founded the club. Below are some pictures from my dearest trips. The story is attached, but unfortunately it's only in Romanian.

Matterhorn 2008 (unsuccessful)
Alps 2008 (Signalkuppe, Zummsteinspitze, Parrotspitze, Ludwigshoe)
Climbing in Thailand (2008)
Aconcagua (6962m) (2008)
Tres Cruces Central (6629m) (2008)
Dufourspitze (4634 m) (2007)
Mont Blanc (4808 m) (2007)

I took up climbing seriously when I came to Singapore for my PhD. Alas, Singapore has no mountains and no climbing crags, but the people from the NUS Climbing team are a hearty bunch. I am proud to be a member of the team, even though I am not so good at climbing as I would like. If you want to climb in NUS, visit the Climbing Club's website.

Below you'll find my personal [sportswise] wish list.
  • Matterhorn
  • Mt Aconcagua
  • Mt Cook
  • The Amazon
