From AY 2012/13, the course CS5234 was recalled and will be offered again. (And, CS5206 will not be offered any more.)

Undergraduates can also take this module if they have the pre-requisite, namely CS3230. Ten places has been set aside for undergraduates who want to take CS5234.

Students who have taken CS5206 may NOT take CS5234 for credit.
Students who need CS5206 for whatever requirement, should take CS5234 instead (starting from AY2012/13).

News (July 2008)

Starting from academic year 2008/09, the course CS5234 will not be offered any more; It will be superseded by the new modules CS5206 Foundations in Algorithms and CS6234 Advanced Algorithms. CS5206 is about equivalent to the old CS5234 (+- some stuffs), while CS6234 is a seminar-style course on advanced algorithms that will be a natural follow-on for CS5206.
