What we expect ...
Students to acquire the ability to
- discover interesting problems/questions in the given domain,
- conduct preliminary investigation to ensure that
- the problem/question are significant and real
- (ie. that they are not pseudo-problems/questions.)
- conduct further investigation to come up with
- solutions/answers to these problems/questions, and
- critically evaluate solutions/answers by checking
- how they address the initial problems/questions,
- how they address further problems/questios that may bear upon the solutions/answers, and
- how well they compare with alternative solutions/answers, using the criteria of critical evaluation in the domain.
