ER2004 CALL FOR TUTORIALS
INTRODUCTION
High-quality tutorials are a long-standing tradition in ER
conferences. They complement the depth-oriented technical
sessions by providing participants with broad overviews of emerging
fields or clear syntheses of results in existing fields.
The ER 2004 Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials to
be held as part of the conference program or in conjunction with the
conference. Proposals may be submitted for 90-minute tutorials, to
be held within the main conference stream, or for half day (3 hour)
or full day (6 hour) tutorials, to be held as pre-conference tutorials.
Please note that tutorials are not be intended to advocate a single
avenue of research, nor should they promote a product.

Proposals must be submitted electronically, before the submission
deadline of May 10, 2004, to both Tutorial Chairs:
Jianzhong Li, Harbin Institute of Technology, China

previously, explain when and where, and estimate attendance.

already been given elsewhere, please include a copy of the

REVIEW PROCESS
Tutorial proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their estimated
benefit for prospective participants and on their fit within the
tutorials program as a whole. Factors to be considered include:
relevance, timeliness, importance, and audience appeal; suitability
for presentation in the proposed time frame; and past experience
and qualifications of the instructors. Selection is also based on the
overall distribution of topics, expected attendance, and specialties
of the intended audiences. It may happen that not all tutorials of
technical merit can be accommodated within the tutorials program.
