My name is Yan-Tao (Leon) Zheng 郑彦涛. I am now working at Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) as a research engineer. I have submitted my Ph.D thesis to NUS Graduate School, National University of Singapore. My thesis advisors are Prof. Chua Tat-Seng from School of Computing, NUS and Dr. Tian Qi from Institute for Infocomm Research. I graduated from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), School of Computer Eng. with B.Eng in 2004.
Email: yantaozheng -AT- gmail DOT com
My research interests include GPS-tagged multimedia mining and image semantic understanding, which connect to the fields of multimedia computing, computer vision and pattern recognition.
During my Ph.D study, I have focused on constructing a novel visual feature, visual synset, to partially bridge the visual appearance differences of images of same semantic class. Please view the project page.
During my internship with Google, I have worked on building an earth-scale tourist landmark recognition engine. Please view the demo page. It has been reported by various media, like PCWorld, 腾讯.
During my research attachment in I2R, I focused on TV commercial semantic analysis, i.e. TV commercial classifications based on categories of advertised products.
