My dear visitors:

Hi there :-) Welcome to my web site. I'm HUANG Chao-Hui (Ph.D.), a computer scientist in the field of biomedical engineering. I come from Taiwan, the Formosa.

Currently I am living in Singapore. I like travelling, wind-surfing, sailing, traveling, rock claiming, sky-diving (although many of those are not tried in the last few years). Currently I am learning French. It is difficult (I mean VERY), but it's a lot of fun also :-)

Please drop me messages or go to my blog (http://chao-hui.blogspot.com) if you are interesting in my works.

Curriculm Vitae

Biography

I received my M.Sc. degree in computer science and information engineering from Chung-Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2001, and my Ph.D. degree in electrical and control engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2007, respectively.

I have served as a research fellow in Image & Pervasive Access Lab (French National Research Center, CNRS UMI 2955) and School of Computing, National University of Singapore, (2008-2010). During my Ph.D. preparation I was invited to serve as a visiting student scholar in University California, Berkeley, (2005-2006). I have several years experience of project management, system analysis, and development in various world-class software and hardware companies, including Altek Co. Ltd, the biggest of digital still camera assemblers in worldwide (2007-2008), and International Business Machines (IBM), Taiwan-Hsinchu Office (1996-1999).

I have published more than 20 technical papers in journals and conferences, and have been awarded a US patent and co-owned an EU copyright patent. The National Science Council, Taiwan, also has awarded me a potential young researcher scholarship in 2005.

I have joined some major international research projects, including the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer II (AMS-02) Project, which was led by a professor of MIT, Samuel C. C. Ting, the winner of the 1976 Nobel Prize in Physics. I have served as an assistant coordinator in the initialization of the sub-project "AMS-02 Crew Operations Post (ACOP)", in National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, in 2004. I have served as an research fellow in another project named MMedWeb, which is a Singaporean-French joint collaboration. I also learned the experience of international collaborative research activities from these projects.

My current research interests include cognitive science, bio-inspired information system, soft computing, intelligent robotic and sensing technology, and embedded system. I am also interesting in wireless communication, global positioning system (GPS), graphical processing unit (GPU) programming, digital signal processing (DSP), and field programmable gate array design (FPGA), and parallel processing on GPUs, DSPs, and FPGAs.
