Third International Conference on  MULTIMEDIA MODELING
 Toulouse, France, 12-15 November 1996

The purpose of the MMM series of conferences is to bring together activities related to all aspects of multimedia modeling, in its broader
sense, from multimedia networking to virtual worlds.

Its ultimate goal is to provide a better understanding of the basic paradigms and to establish conceptual links between them for a better
design of future advanced multimedia systems.

MMM'96 will be a forum for presentation of the state of the art in the representation, processing, interaction, integration and retrieval of
multimedia information, and will also provide an excellent orientation for newcomers.

In cooperation with IFIP WG6&10, (ACM and IEEE requested)

Research papers as well as proposals for tutorials and tool demonstrations are solicited particularly (but not restricted to) in the
following areas:

- Multimedia and Hypermedia - Model-based Video/Vision/Graphics
- Formal models for MM & HM - Indexing & Retrieval of MM & HM
- Topological & Geometric Modeling - Integration of Graphics & Vision
- Integration of MM Information - Synchronization of MM Information
- Interactive MM & HM - MM & Virtual Reality
- MM Operating Systems - MM & HM Networking
- MM Database Modeling - Speech & Music Modeling
- Applications of MM & HM

MMM'96 will start with one day of tutorials, and will continue with three days of technical presentations. Tool presentations will be
possible throughout the conference. The conference, organized by both LAAS-CNRS and ENSICA, will be held at ENSICA in Toulouse.
