Men who kindled that inner fire

"Inside every human is hidden a fire of divine qualities

Simply touch the molten tip with all your heart, and it will immediately set ablaze"

The above two lines sum up my philosophy in life. I believe that all human beings are potentially divine. Nothing is impossible for me. My purpose in life is to realise my true Self. One spark is enough.

Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Buddha, Valmiki, Tulsidas, Kalidas, Ashoka...all required a single spark to transform their lives and made huge differences to the world.

Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948) - From Mohandas to Mahatma, the Great Soul!
A play on the truthful king Harishchandra inspired Mohandas to pursue Truth at all costs.
Swami Vivekananda (1863 - 1902) - From Naren to Vivekananda
A touch from Ramakrishna Paramhansa was enough for Narendra to realise his hidden divinity
Gautam Buddha (563 - 483 B.C.) - From Siddhartha to Buddha, the Enlightened One!
Siddhartha gave up his throne and attachment for his wife and son to discover the Truth.
Maharshi Valmiki (~3500 BC) - From a bandit Ratnakar to Valmiki
When his family told him that they would not partake in his sins, the robber and murderer transformed into saint and wrote the Ramayana.

Goswami Tulsidas (1532 - 1623) - From sex-addiction to great devotee

When his wife Ratnavali coaxed him to love Ram instead of her body, his life got transformed. He devoted his life to Rama and wrote Ram Charitra Manas.
Mahakavi Kalidas (somewhere between 2 BC to 5 AD) - From a great fool to the greatest Sanskrit poet and dramatist
Being laughed at and insults from his wife transformed the fool Kalidas to a learned scholar and the poet and author of epic works in Sanskrit.
Ashoka the Great (265 - 232 BC) - From Chanda Ashoka to Devanamapriya Priyadarshi
The extent of killing he witnessed in the Kalinga war transformed Ashoka into an ideal and righteous ruler, propogating Buddha's message of peace and non-violence.
