Low Light Photography

It is challenging to capture a good photograph in a low-light environment. In this project, we want to make photographing under low-light conditions easier by taking advantage of the computational capability of digital cameras and the development of image processing and other techniques.

Enhancing Photographs with Near Infrared Images

Near Infra-Red (NIR) images of natural scenes usually have better contrast and contain rich texture details that may not be perceived in visible light photographs (VIS). We propose a novel method to enhance a photograph by using the contrast and texture information of its corresponding NIR image.

Deblurring in Digital Photography
Deblurring is a very challenging and useful research topic and successful solution of this problem will benefit a large amount of digital camera consumers and certainly the manufacturers of digital cameras. We are trying to improve conventional image restoration methods and discover novel approaches which integrate with other deblurring modalities.
Rain Removal in Video
Removal of rain streaks in video is a challenging problem due to the random spatial distribution and fast motion of rain. We present a new rain removal algorithm that incorporates both temporal and chromatic properties of rain in video.
