grades for lab 4 can be found here. I will be posting combined grade for all labs by tonight.

Saturday, April 10, 2004

grading of lab3 is done, get your marks from here. late penalty is 5% per day, marks are given from 3 so this amounts to 0.1 marks per day.

Monday, March 22, 2004

Lab 2 grades can be found here. grading is based on complexity of motion, correctness (sliding and penetrating feet), and creativity but this time I haven't given separate marks for each of them. marks are given out of 2 (since we have relative grading system this should not matter).

since lot of people have done well this time, gallery size is big (~25 MB), so I am trying to find a way to upload video somewhere so that you can watch them conveniently.

comments for lab1 can be found here.

check you Gallery for good examples.

grades for lab 1 are out, click here to find it out. I have graded assignment based on four categories - Raytracing, Texture Mapping, Bump Mapping and Creativity. Each consists of two marks, making total of 8. I will be putting some general comments and top 2-3 images from each category by evening so that you can compare them with yours.

Uploaded instruction for Lab2.

I have found that crossroad is not very robust and do not work for all models.

Instruction for importing scene from Maya to 3D Studio Max can be found here.

Added link for crossroads, a software which can convert between different file formats. Most common file format is 3DS, which can be opened by 3D Studio Max but not with Maya and Softimage. So you can first convert *.3DS file to *.OBJ files with this software and then can open them with Maya or Softimage.

I will be using this page to provide solutions to problems I am unable to solve in lab plus for useful tips and tricks for working in used software's and any other announcements. Please visit this page frequently.

Please read instruction carefully for deliverables of Lab 1. I have got some submissions which do not follow required format.

Since lot of people want to model mirrors in their scenes, I have written step by step tutorial for modeling mirror in a Maya and 3Ds Max. I will uploading same for Softimage soon.
