I have partitioned this assignment into four part for grading - Ray Tracing, Texture Mapping, Bump Mapping (these three were requirements for lab) and Creativity (which I feel is important since animation is an art). First three parts are graded based on two factors - complexity of effect and how close you get to producing that effect. |
Simple Effects |
Advances Effects |
Raytracing: |
reflecting objects or planes, mirrors etc |
glass objects like water glass with or without water, magnifying glass, spectacles etc |
Texture Mapping |
texturing planes to create walls or floors or on other objects just for showing texture mapping etc |
used for showing multiple reflections of same scene, creating water using ocean shader, crumpled paper etc |
Bump Mapping |
for creating random noise for floor or walls or oranges etc |
wrinkled paper, basketball, water bubbles etc. |
So general idea for grading is as follows: if cannot so a simple effect correctly you get least marks (for ex. foggy mirrors) if you can do simple effects correctly you get average marks. if you do advanced effects but they are not quite correct you get average marks. if you do advanced effect and they are okay you get above average. if you do advanced effect and they are perfect you get maximum marks.
Check you Gallery for good examples of above effects. |
