Dr. Tan Hung Pheng

Dr. Tan received his BSc degree from Nanyang
University in 1968 and his MA and PhD from the State University of New York at
Buffalo in 1971 and 1973 respectively. Prior to joining NUS, he accumulated considerable experience in managing
information systems in the government sectors and the banking industry. He
served in two well-established foreign banking groups and a major local banking
group for over twenty years in charge of information technology. Dr.
Tan is a senior member of the Singapore Computer Society. He also
served in the executive council of the Information Technology Management
Association from 1985 to 1989. He is a senior member of the
Association for Computing Machinery, USA.
