1.	conscientious; nice and friendly

3.	Very funny/interesting. Makes complex ideas seem slightly less complez (though they remain awfully difficult still)

Q10	What improvements would you suggest to the teacher?
1.	Should not take student's understanding for granted, students felt stressed not being able to answer question within 3 secs.
2.	Please don't assume we know everything! It's fine to reveal how you do "magic" with the questions sometimes =) Also, please stop people from asking questions or seeking clarification during lecture. It is really disruptive to the rest of the students as it disrupts the pace of our learning. Thanks.

As in, things like the various parts of the CPU, Cache etc, if possible and feasible, instead of just showing students the pictures only, the actually hardware could be brought for lectures and introduced to students so that we can undertstand their strutures better.

1.	He is a very helpful teacher and is very approachable. Able to give detailed explanation regarding my queries. He has made me enjoy the subject. Well done!
2.	He has interlaced his lectures with humour and wit. Although there are boring topics in CS2100, he has somehow managed to make it vaguely interesting. Overall the best lecturer of my semester.

4.	We'd heard about how tough this module is. We were scared when we first went to class, but as the year passed, we didn't realize how our knowledge was enhanced from knowing nothing to knowing so much in such a short span. The lectures were amazing to be in, the labs were challenging, the tutorials were mind - boggling, then the assignments, self marked assignments. Mr Tan Tuck Choy has done so much to help us get through this module, it's amazing to see a teacher so dedicated and passionate about his subject. And obviously, so intellegent. He somehow inspires me to pursue my career in computers. That's how good he is.
5.	His lectures are very well planned, punctual and quite interactive.
6.	Nice lecturer who covers the material in detail and at a pace that should be comfortable for most, if not all the students. Explanation is also quite detailed and helps students understand the main ideas of the concepts during lectures. Studying and revision on my own is made much easier as compared to most other modules I've taken so far. Gives sufficient practice questions for the materials covered. Also provides timely feedback and answering of queries on the forums, and encourages discussion on the forums.

16.	Always my favourite teacher. He's full of enthusiasm, has attractive way of lecturing (which can keep me awake during the lecture), yet effective and easy to follow and understand. He also can made students admire him by his knowledge. His tricky questions urge me to understand well what I've learn. Finally, his nice character made students feel comfortable, just like a friend.
17.	Teaching is not just explaining concepts, theories or application. Teaching is an art with which you create geniuses out of idle students, just like creating a pot out of sand. I firmly beleive that Prof. Tan has such a capability. A good teacher should be a role model that students would want to look out for. I think this semester none of the other lecturers have created a such a good impression on me as Prof. Aaron Tan has. He is the best choice for the award !!!
18.	Doctor Tan is a very responsible lecture and I heard that it is the first time for him to have full time teaching this course, which is recently change from CS1104 to CS2100 also. I can understand the concepts and enjoy the lecture also.
19.	He is a very good lecturer, and explains clearly in this lectures (as well as webcasts). He also makes an effort to answer each and every doubt you have. Very patient guy. And very friendly! Thanks to him i dun hate the module though its a little difficult. Makes me wanna do well. Cheers.
20.	Mr Tan has a vast knowledge of computer science, and has shown his versatility, being able to teach CS1101 last semester which touches on high level computer language, and he teaches CS2100 this semester which deals with base level computer programming. He teaches with enthusiasm and is friendly and approachable. He always assures students and encourages them to strive for excellence. He backs up his credentials by asserting his knowledge in class, where he can solve lecture examples quickly and promptly answer students' queries.
21.	He is by far one of the best lecturer i have ever experience in my life. He is clear in lecture, gives good relevent examples to help you understand, and often goes the extra mile to help us understand the material. One example is when he realized that increasing number of us are going to tutorial empty handed, instead of scolding us he used the extra time after lectures to go through the tutorial questions to help us understand and thus be able to attempt them. Another matter that touched me was when during one of the lecture, he apologizes for not being able to reply the questions posted in the forums as he had a busy week. This showed me how much he wanted to answer any questions and doubts that we have ASAP. It showed me his dedication to teaching and his passion and love for his students.
22.	He's an outstanding lecturer when it comes to welfare and taking care of students, making sure students understand the concepts entirely before moving on. He has provided us insights and even more interest in the module he taught. I am very glad to be taught by him.

Apart from helping us in this module, he is also approachable enough to offer help in any areas we may have.
