Overview 

 

Grid computing refers to the coordinated and secured sharing of computing resources among dynamic collections of individuals, institutions and resources.  ALiCE (Adaptive and scalable internet-based Computing Engine) is a grid-computing technology that enables a company to aggregate computing resources on their Intranet, and to leverage on resources on the Internet into one computing environment.  The main benefits to an organisation include reducing business costs and maximizing its return on IT investment.
