Biometrics is an exciting new technology to enhance security and convenience. Yet it also poses great risks to privacy and security if not judiciously deployed. Implementing biometrics is not merely about replacing keys and passwords with fingerprints. User awareness and acceptance, as well as legal and privacy issues, must be considered for its successful adoption in a particular application.
