The Sensor Lab is home to the Motion Capture System. Designed specially to facilitate motion capture, the room is fully enclosed with no window panels to ensure minimum light pollution during motion capture. Railings are also installed along the perimeter of the room so that the motion capture system cameras can be easily setup and repositioned to suit the needs of any project.
The infrastructure installed in the Sensor Lab also makes the lab an ideal photo studio for any computer vision projects.

Motion Capture System
Consisting of 5 4.0 megapixels cameras and 7 1.3 megapixels cameras, this motion capture system is capable of capturing body motions as well as finer details such as facial movements. By utlizing infra-red cameras and reflective markers to capture motion, the area and range of motions being captured will not be limited by any wires, making the system more robust and all-purpose.
The system is also capable of synchronizing with modelling and animation software such as Maya. Motion data can be streamed into the animation softwares at real-time, and the animation can be immediately visualized.
