Menjelang Tujuh
Almost Seven

kejaran bangau merah di biru pucat langit
a chase of red cranes in the pale blue sky

ataukah riak camar-camar mencari laut
or a wave of seagulls seeking their ocean

tegas bentuk lembut garis di bias sinar
defined shapes- gentle lines- in refracted rays

awan senja menarikan warna
the sunset clouds' dance of colours

di gelanggang menua hanya naga hitam tersisa
in the ageing arena a sole black dragon remains

dengan leher patah meliuk menjulang jua
with a broken neck, bending, soaring still

ah, seharusnya ku tahu makna waktu berlalu,
ah, i should've known what the passage of time would mean,

dan tak pupus senyum yang terkembang oleh cantikmu dulu.
and vanish not the smile that has bloomed upon your past beauty.
