At the Conference

The keynote speaker for the first day, Joe Costello. Interesting guy. =)

So I prefer taking pictures with no flash (more discreet mah), but then Ramkumar explained to me that without flash you need to expose the lens for a longer period (30 secs) to capture the photo, which is why they tend to be blur since it is hard for our hands to hold still for 30 seconds straight.
Now I know. But I still prefer it. =D

And the second try with flash.

Our poster, among others, at the University Booth in the Exhibition.
Can you spot which one?

Just after this picture was taken the guard approached me and said, "Sorry, no photography allowed." =P
I was after the background art. I thought the blanks were there on purpose, but later on I saw them filled in. =D

Moscone Center

The venue of the conference. They have Moscone-s for three out of the four cardinal directions: North, South and West. These were from Moscone South, where technical sessions were held.

Map of the old city. Cute how they continue on to the next wall. I forgot to take the one at the other side.

These were artifacts digged out from the ground below the building, according to the explanation on the plate.

Wednesday Night Party

It was held at AT&T Ballpark, some distance from Moscone. I was relieved it wasn't a formal event, but outdoor evening parties mean cold night air. =P I used no-flash setting so it looked like daytime in some of these pictures.

Clouds...

This was along the way to the entrance of the park.

The total four students from NUS in DAC. =)

Tried to pretend that we were in the stadium for a real game, and the friend-cameraman bluntly told us, "No-one's going to believe that you got the front seat."

City lights... that turned out not looking much like anything. =P

I'm a sucker for these kinds of view. Ramkumar gave me some tips on taking this one -- still about no-flash needing longer exposure. So this was taken with my camera sitting on top of a trash bin, to help keeping it steady. =P

Taken from inside the bus taking us back to the hotel. Didn't have time to stand outside and take it properly, as we were afraid the bus would be leaving soon. The sign read "Home of the San Francisco Giants".
