Pier 39

There exist up to Pier 45, and this (39) is the most famous one, I heard. May not mean that there are 45 piers in total, because there is a Pier 43 1/2 and some numbers in the sequence do not appear on the map, so I don't know. =P

Nice view of the city from here.

I later tried to take a closeup of the funky crab but didn't manage to. My companions had to wait for me everytime I got the urge to take pictures, so a little paiseh. =P

This one taken for the sling.

The shops.

So here are the five of us -- the trio from NUS and two friends we met in the conference who were so kind to take us around. There were two cameras, hence the conflicting directions of our eyes. =D

The NUS trio, once again.

The view to the sea. Taken while fighting the shivers from the cold.

Ride Along the Bay

These were taken from inside the car, on the way to Pier 39.

Not the best angle, but if one is so inclined, a good take on this can always be found on the city guidebooks or the internet. =)

Migrating birds? I guess they were too far to be the focus of the photo, what a pity.

First thought this to be the famous Golden Gate Bridge before realizing it was the wrong structure. =P Of course it was also the wrong colour, but with the amount of fog there one couldn't quite be sure. As for the size, our hosts had actually hinted that the Golden Gate was not as huge as one would imagine, so I hadn't thought it was wrong either. ^^0

Aiming at the same bridge as previous but a bus happened to pass by, and I thought the reflections on the window made a nice view too.

Metal ladies we mistook as mermaids from afar. A similar sort-of-statue appeared lazing on the roof of the Museum of Modern Arts (if not mistaken) so I suppose these were meant to be art pieces rather than monuments.
