The goals of CS1231 (Discrete Structures) are:
(1) to develop mathematical maturity:
the ability to formalize concepts,
work from definitions,
think rigorously,
reason concisely and construct a theory; and
(2) to provide basic mathematical preprequisites relevant to Computer Science.
