ICAAS Distinguished Service Awards


The ICAAS Executive Committee established the ICAAS Distinguished Service Award (IDSA) in 2003, as part of ICAAS' 25th Anniversary Celebration, as the highest form of recognition/honour offered by the association.

The ICAAS may award the IDSA to individuals at its Annual General Meeting or any prominent event (dinner, banquet, ...) in recognition of their extensive high quality service and contribution to the Association.

* Selection Criteria

Demonstration of service and contributions to ICAAS and its mission, which are:

* Award Eligibility

All ICAAS members (i.e., Associate, Ordinary and Life) shall be eligible.

* Award Description

Recipients of this award shall receive an engraved plaque. [Cited as an example only, actual award to be decided]

* Award Limit

The Award Committee shall award one (1) IDSA annually. The Award Committee may also decide not to make an award in a particular year.

* Nomination

Nominations for this award may be made by any ICAAS member.

All nominations must be fully completed and submitted to the Award Committee by the nomination deadline in order for the nominee to be considered as a candidate for the award. Self nomination is not permitted.

All incomplete nominations will be returned to the nominator for re-submission. Nominations postmarked or date stamped after the nomination deadline will not qualify for consideration until the following year. Nominations not selected will be held and considered for two (2) consecutive years, then discarded.

To complete the nomination, please submit three (3) letters in support of the candidate's nomination by [date]. Each nomination should provide support/evidence in how the nominee has fulfilled the awards selection criteria. In particular, specific reasons on how the nominee has served with distinction must be given. The nomination should include the following information of both the nominator and nominee: name, contact address, and contact telephone numbers.

* Award Committee

The Award Committee shall be chaired by the ICAAS President and shall comprise four (4) other members. The latter shall be drawn from a wide section of ICAAS members, present and past Exco members as well as past presidents. The tenure of the Award Committee shall not exceed that of the sitting Exco. All decisions shall be made by majority vote.
