WSPC-ICAAS Most Outstanding Junior College Science Student Awards


The ICAAS Most Outstanding Junior College Science Student Award is presented annually to an outstanding junior college science student who has the best academic achievement in science, the best ability to explain scientific results, and the best attitude to address difficult problems and issues.

* Award:

The winner represents Singapore at the Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar (SIYSS) held annually in December in Stockholm, Sweden, in conjunction with the Nobel Prize Presentation Ceremony. The winner gets the opportunity to interact with other young scientific talents, visit Swedish science institutes, attend the Nobel lectures and participate in the Nobel festivities. The objectives are to stimulate interest in and enhance knowledge of scientific issues, and promote international understanding and friendship through such scientific and cultural exchange between students.

This award is sponsored by World Scientific Publishing Company.

* Selection Process:

The winner is selected in a two-round process. In the first round, the Ministry of Education shortlists about 20 qualified candidates. In the second round, a panel of eminent scientists and educators selects the final winner.
