You will be involved in projects using next generation sequencing, and will be required to perform computational sequence alignments and assemblies, and analysis of the data. More details regarding the projects will be disclosed during the interview. Currently, our laboratory uses both genetic and genomic tools in our translational research projects, which involves collaborations with clinicians.

This is a new SERC PSF project awarded in August 2010. It is follow-on to our pattern space project that ended in December 2010. We have one 3-year RA position in this new project to be filled. For more information, please visit http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~wongls/bp/openings/guimei-april2011.pdf.
This is a new MOE T2 project awarded in April 2010. We have a 3-year postdoc or a 3-year RA position for this project yet to be filled. The objectives of the project are (i) to construct/infer a comprehensive protein interactome of a pathogen, (ii) to construct / infer its interaction pathways with its host, (iii) to construct/infer its pathways to drug resistance, and (iv) to identify drug targets for countering its drug resistance mechanisms.
This a large NRF CRP project; see details at http://www.lipidprofiles.com. We have a 1.5-year postdoc or RA position still to be filled for the computational part of this project. The successful candidate will participate with in the development of informatics and advance search algorithms for knowledge discovery in lipidomics. The computational challenges that we plan to work on include: (1) predict proteins and complexes involved in lipid metabolism, (2) discover lipid-binding and related motifs, (3) gather additional supporting evidence from the literature on these candidate proteins and prioritize them for experimental validation. Furthermore, we also hope to de-noise and identify lipid profiles associated with diseases that the lipidomic program plans to consider.
