This a large NRF CRP project; see details at http://www.lipidprofiles.com. We have a 3-year postdoc position and a 3-year research assistant position for the computational part of this project above.
The successful candidates will participate with in the development of informatics and advance search algorithms for knowledge discovery in lipidomics. The computational challenges that we plan to work on include: (1) predict proteins and complexes involved in lipid metabolism, (2) discover lipid-binding and related motifs, (3) gather additional supporting evidence from the literature on these candidate proteins and prioritize them for experimental validation. Furthermore, we also hope to de-noise and identify lipid profiles associated with diseases that the lipidomic program plans to consider.

The group
aims at providing novel insights into the function of lipids that are
involved in cellular processes underlying physiology and
disease through Lipidomics.
Lipidomics is a cutting edge multidisciplinary
research discipline at the interface of
lipid biology, technology and medicine. It has an opening for IT personnel.
