My name is Shanheng Zhao, or Chiu, Sin Hang as in Cantonese, or also known as Simon among friends. I am currently a PhD student in Computational Linguistics Laboratory, Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, National University of Singapore. My supervisor is Associate Professor Hwee Tou Ng .
I am a student member of ACL, student member of IEEE and IEEE Computer Society, members of IEEE-CS Technical Committees on Computational Intelligence, Digital Libraries, Multimedia Computing, and Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence. I am also a member of IAPR Technical Committees 11, student member of PREMIA, and PREMIB web welfare committee member.
My research interest is Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval. Currently I am working on coreference resolution and discourse analysis, both in English and Chinese.

I have a large collection of music. Unfortunately, the hits do like a univariate Gaussian with low variance. Most hits concentrate on a small subset of the collection. Hence, many of them have seldom been listened to. Any suggestions to make it asymptotically uniform in pratice?
I like travelling and photographing. Some selected photos are available here. The selection itself is surely arbitrary. Think about an algorithm to comparing pictures, as what I am doing in text coherence analysis now.
