NUS Computing students win first prize at MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack San Francisco 2019

11 November 2019 – NUS Computing students Chen Yizhao (Information Systems, Year 3) and Nicholas Seah (Information Security, Year 3) won the first prize at the MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack San Francisco 2019 competition held from 11 to 13 October this year. The team won the top prize in the mental health category – one of three categories in the competition.

Business Analytics student wins big at Mandopop songwriting contest with powerful ballad

Business Analytics student James Liu Song Yu won the Best Song Award for his Mandarin power ballad on 29 September. He won the top award at SG:SW2019 I Write The Songs, a nation-wide Mandopop songwriting festival. Out of the 303 compositions received during the open call submission, 12 were performed at Saturday's concert.

National University of Singapore Empowers Student Ethical Hackers to Bolster Cybersecurity

Six NUS Computing students received prizes for uncovering vulnerabilities in NUS' digital infrastructure. Bounties ranged from US$100 for lower severity vulnerabilities to US$1,500 for critical ones. Overall, 13 valid vulnerabilities were safely reported by students with US$4,550 awarded in total.
