1.Young.
2.Humorous
3.Good at summary main points of the lecture. Enthusiastic
4.Mr. Ben is very handsome, attractive and so smart. He is so adorable.
5.Fleixible with regards to time spent on module topics. Focuses more time on parts where students desire more focus on. A bit too flexible on everything else as well, including grading criteria dictated by students.
6.excellent teacher. great knowledge. extremely hard working and dedicated
7.Interesting, hardworking
8.he really makes us think about the subject. one of the few lecturers who truly cares about the students. lol he keeps saying he is kind and just. well that is true anyway :)
9.Committed teacher, hilarious
10.He is friendly and enthusiastic. He explains the materials very well, and encourages the students to think and ask questions.

14.lively lectures and approachable

16.Ben is able to communicate ideas very well. I appreciate his efforts to get us to talk more in class and to learn how to learn. His classes are entertaining and enlightening and the amount of effort he puts into preparing the material for this module is apparent and, also, much appreciated.
17.put in a lot of effort to make sure students learn something from the correct way of learning... good anticipation of areas where most students will struggle
18.friendly, approachable, hardworking, open minded.

Q10  What improvements would you suggest to the teacher?
1.Slow down. Speaks less singlish please. Can't understand those strange words. Consider more the fair competition in the projects. Some ppl don't have linux installed. We don't even know how to use it. And running the tank game on windows is rather SLOW!!!!!!

10.Slow down and pay more attention to students who are suffering and not smart students who do not really need your help.
11.Exam kinda sucked. Less questions, more thinking would have been better :)
12.Dun be late for Tutorial..
13.Speaks a bit too fast, occasionally.

STUDENTS' NOMINATIONS FOR BEST TEACHING

Faculty Member:  LEONG WING LUP, BEN
Department:  COMPUTER SCIENCE Academic Year:  2006/2007
Faculty:  SCHOOL OF COMPUTING Semester:  2

Module Code:CS3243No of Nominations:17

1.By far the most enthusiastic professor i have come across. Has put in a lot of effort to make the course interesting.
2.He's enthusiastic and hard working. He helps me broaden my knowledge
3.he is a great teacher, very smart and caring.
4.He makes an effort to make sure every student understands the teaching material. Thus he is very willing to set aside time for consultation. His lectures and tutorials are never boring, in fact his constant interaction with students during lectures keep you on your toes, as such I've gained alot from his teachings.
5.He is one of the best teachers I have had in NUS. He has increased my interest in this subject. Extremely hard working. Takes pains to make sure that students understand what's going on in the class. It shows that he is really concerned about students actually learning the module.
6.darn i dunno whom I should be nominating .. i mean ben or mr hugh...anyway finally did a coin flip lol.. he is undoubtedly one of the best prof in computing. glad to be in this module for this sem. learned loads of stuff about AI. and the projects truly blew my mind. Excellent job !prof
7.He is a good lecturer. Although he said Artificial Intelligence is not his field, he did put a lot of efforts in teaching and organizing small contests for the projects. I would like to thank him for being my lecturer this semester.
8.Fantastic lecturer, teacher and mentor. Understands the needs of a university student, always making sure that we know what's going on. Doesn't fail to clarify concepts in lectures or in tutorials.
9.Willing to put in so much effort to teach AI, though his specialization is in networking. Such effort is commendable, especially since he is an NUS lecturer.
10.Very Open, Very Democratic, Very Hardworking, Very Enthu, Very Funni, Very Interesting...
11.I can really learn a lot from this module.
12.He not only teaches us foundations of AI but more often than not, emphasize on what we as students should learn how to learn independently. He enlightens me that both technical skills and soft skills are important when we go out to work, so we should not neglect the latter.
