At the Beginning of your PE Session

1. Calm down. Don't panic! Panic does not get you anywhere.
2. Make sure that you are at the right venue. If you are at the wrong venue, you will be told to move to the correct venue.
3. Switch off your handphone and put it in your bag. Place your bag on the floor.
4. Place your matriculation card on the table.
5. Place your books and lecture notes on the table.
6. Turn on the computer (if it is not turned on).
7. Login to the computer using a Windows account that will be given to you.
8. Start Secure Shell Client and login to your PE account using the account number plabxxxx given to you. Do not login to sunfire; login to a special server with hostname plab3.comp.nus.edu.sg.
9. In your Secure Shell Client, run the PE setup command by typing (please use copy and paste):

   /home/course/cs1101cl/bin/pesetup
   

   Read the instructions that follow.

10. In your Secure Shell Client, type (please use copy and paste):

    source  .bashrc
    

    Read the instructions that follow. The instructions will tell you the website to visit. If you wish to open two Secure Shell windows, you need to type "source .bashrc" in BOTH windows.

11. Start a web browser, either Internet Explorer or Firefox, to visit the website.
12. Read the question carefully, and plan out your program!
13. Copy and paste the program header from here (change your particulars and session number accordingly):

    /**********************************************************************/
    

14. Remember to submit your program frequently using the submit prog.c command (replace prog.c with the name of your C program), just like what you do for labs. Submit at least once every ten minutes. If you submit one second late, the submission will not be accepted, and if you had not submitted anything before, you will get zero marks. We have to be harsh to be fair to all students.
