Professor Beng Chin Ooi is the recipient of the 2020 ACM SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award for his innovative research and for devising and deploying innovative large-scale systems to manage and analyze data.

“The award recognizes both his groundbreaking research and his success in building end-to-end solutions, from data cleaning, through data curation with human-in-loop (crowdsourcing) and big data processing, all the way to complex (machine learning and deep learning based) data analytics.”

The SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award is for innovative and highly significant contributions of enduring value to the development, understanding, or use of data systems. The award has been given since 1992.

Prof Ooi will receive the award at the annual ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference.
