Lab Alumnus Elevated to IEEE Fellow

Professor Heng Tao Shen Elevated to IEEE Fellow

Professor Heng Tao Shen, a lab alumnus and former PhD student of Professor Ooi Beng Chin, is elevated to IEEE fellow in acknowledgement of his contributions to multimedia content understanding and retrieval.

Professor Shen received his B.Sc. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore in 2000 and 2004, respectively, under the supervision of Professor Ooi Beng Chin. He is currently a Professor and the Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the Executive Dean of the AI Research Institute, and the Director of the Centre for Future Media, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China.
